Ours hold 5.6 to 8 litres, enough for two adults of average build, and come as solid oak and mahogany companion caskets, carved oak, floral brass or the weatherproof Angel at Rest for a garden.

Before you choose a double urn

The solid oak double companion casket is one of our best sellers, and it comes with two sealable ashes bags and two cotton bags so each person's ashes stay apart. The carved oak double has your words cut into the lid, and mahogany and white gloss oak versions are here too.

Our two floral brass urns for couples hold about 6.5 litres under a threaded lid, engraved with flowers from base to lid. The Angel at Rest is cast in stone and resin and plated in iron, copper or bronze, and it's weatherproof enough to stand in a garden all year.

The plaques on our double caskets take 150 or 200 characters, depending on the design, which is room for both names and both sets of dates. If one partner is still living, talk to us about the wording before you order.

Common questions about double urns

Can the second set of ashes be added later?

Yes. Every design here can be reopened when the time comes: the wooden caskets through their screwed base, the floral brass designs by their threaded lid and the Angel at Rest through the threaded plug underneath.

How much do double urns hold?

Ours hold 5.6 to 8 litres. Two adults of average build need around 5.5 litres between them, so for a larger couple choose one of 6.5 litres or more.

Can I keep the two sets of ashes separate?

Yes. Each wooden double casket comes with two sealable ashes bags and two cotton drawstring bags, so each person's ashes stay apart inside the same casket.

Can a double urn be buried?

Yes. The wooden double caskets and the floral brass doubles can both be buried, and the caskets can also go in a columbarium. Check the plot or niche size first, as a double is bigger than a single casket.
